Abstract
The mosque is a place to worship Allah SWT. The mosque is also an important place for Muslims, therefore the mosque has a history that cannot be separated and is very closely related to Muslims. In ancient times the mosque was not only used as a place of worship but as the center of Islamic civilization. This article is written with the aim to describe the history of Al-Qudsi Mosque and the role of Al-Qudsi Mosque as the center of Islamic civilization in Mengkowo village. The research method that I use is a qualitative method, namely conducting a field approach or conducting direct interviews. Al-Qudsi Mosque was built around 1850s AD. Al Qudsi Mosque has existed since the Dutch colonization, initially this mosque was only a small hut that could only fit for a few people, then as time went by many local residents who congregated finally began to build the Al Qudsi Mosque from the beginning of a small hut into a building, then in the 1940s AD Masjid al Qudsi was renovated such as the prayer shaf was widened, the mosque was enlarged.
