http://journal.iainlangsa.ac.id/index.php/tarbawi/article/view/10768

One of the factors for the low mathematical understanding of students is the inappropriate learning method. The selection of the STAD method is believed to be able to improve students' mathematical understanding. This research uses a quantitative approach (pre-experiment). This study aims to determine the difference in students' mathematical understanding before and after using the STAD method. The research population consisted of STIKOM Tunas Bangsa students majoring in Information Systems in the 2023-2024 academic year, with 8 classes, and the sample was drawn from class 23S01. Quantitative data analysis using SPSS 25, namely paired sample t-test. The results showed that the correlation value was 0.714, indicating a strong and significant correlation between initial understanding and final understanding. Based on the mean value of initial understanding (pretest) with a value of 70.83, lower than the mean final understanding (Post-test) after using the STAD method of 79.44. The sig. A value of 0.00 or smaller than 0.05 states that mathematical understanding after using the STAD method is higher than before using the STAD method. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant and strong increase in mathematical understanding after using the STAD-type cooperative method in higher education, one of which is for STIKOM Tunas Bangsa students
Zulaini Masruro NasutionIka Okta KiranaFitri AnggrainiNani HidayatiFitri Rizki

http://journal.iainlangsa.ac.id/index.php/tarbawi/article/view/11121

This study discusses how the values of Islamic religious education are in the tradition of sea alms. This study aims to describe the values of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) contained in the sea alms tradition in Kedung Malang Village, Kedung District, Jepara Regency. Although this practice contains religious and worship values that should be taught to the community, it is often considered contrary to Islamic teachings. Therefore, this study also focuses on how instilling these values can improve people's understanding of religion. The methodology used in this study is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The focus of this study is on the residents of Kedung Malang Village, especially religious leaders and fishermen. To identify information, data collection was carried out through documentation, interviews, and observations. Data analysis was carried out using an interactive model from Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which includes data reduction, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study indicate that the sea alms tradition not only reflects local culture, but also contains strong PAI values, including social concern, interpersonal cooperation, and gratitude to God. The instillation of moral principles and character in society, especially among youth and the younger generation, can also be done through this tradition. Thus, this study provides insight into the importance of integrating religious values into local cultural practices that can strengthen the understanding and practice of Islamic teachings in society
Ajib DakirohAli As'ad

http://journal.iainlangsa.ac.id/index.php/tarbawi/article/view/11599

Abstract

In the world of education varied learning methods are very necessary in order to support the needs of students' hard skills and soft skills. Soft skills themselves are interpreted as abilities beyond technical and academic abilities, which prioritize the formation of the character of students so that they are able to compete, ethical, moral, courtesy and interact with the community. The purpose of this study is to see whether the talent Soft Skill of Communication and Cooperation in Class 9 MTs students can be channeled through the learning process of fiqh carried out by teachers and students in the classroom. This study uses a qualitative method with the MTSS Al-Fuad Seruway Aceh Tamiang field research design. Data collection techniques are carried out by interview and observation methods that have been taken in the field to see the development of student soft skills talents. The results of this study were found that the main problematic in fiqh learning in class 9 MTs lies in the dominant use of the lecture method is unable to encourage students to be actively involved in the learning process, environmental factors and students who do not support, students tend to be passively reflected in the fact that almost half of students in the class sleep, the limitations of facilities and infrastructure, the learning approach used is very adequate to be able student. This condition indicates that various aspects of soft skills such as discipline, responsibility, collaboration, and confidence have not been realized optimally. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a more interactive and collaborative learning method so that the learning process does not only focus on cognitive achievement, but also on the formation of students' social character and skills.

Fakhri Rizky PutraMuhammad Ichsan

http://journal.iainlangsa.ac.id/index.php/tarbawi/article/view/11044

Aceh has a complex history that is often obscured by its social and political contexts, encompassing both evolutionary and revolutionary aspects. The historiography of education in Aceh, especially during the pre-independence period, is inadequately explored and lacks a comprehensive investigation. The younger generation of Aceh exhibits a restricted understanding of the educational history of their region. This study examines the historical context of pre-independence educational institutions in Aceh, focusing on the institutions and their developmental trajectories. The study employed qualitative methodology utilising library research. The study's findings are presented as follows: Dayah represents the earliest educational institution in Aceh, originating from the Islamic Kingdom of Peureulak, specifically Dayah Cot Kala, in the third Hijri century, or the early 9th century. It served as an institution that educated the community in Islamic beliefs and enabled their effective practice. The first Dutch educational institution founded in Aceh was the Tweede Klasse School (Second Class School) in 1907. Subsequent educational institutions that emerged included the Europese Lagere School (ELS), Eerste Klasse School, Volksschool, Hollands Inlandse School (HIS), and Meer Uitgebreid Lager Onderwijs (MULO). The Dutch educational system in Aceh was implemented to mould society in alignment with the three aims of colonisation: glory (victory and power), gold (wealth and riches), and gospel (Christianization efforts). The Dutch educational system aimed to cultivate office and field workers who adhered to national standards. During the Japanese occupation, education in Aceh underwent minimal changes, primarily limited to the renaming of schools to align with Japanese nomenclature. Japan mandates the study of the Japanese language, respect for Japanese culture, and kinrohoshi (mutual assistance). Madrasah al-Khairiyah, the first madrasah, was founded in Aceh in 1916 AD by Teungku Muhammad Saman Siron, located near the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Kuta Raja. This institution exemplified the modernisation of dayah education by integrating non-Islamic subjects, including Arithmetic, Geography, and History. As a result, Islamic education is characterised by a non-dichotomous nature
Ismail MuhammadSafrina ArianiAisyah Idris

http://journal.iainlangsa.ac.id/index.php/tarbawi/article/view/12411

Learning Islamic values for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) students or Elementary School (SD) children presents challenges in conveying abstract moral and spiritual concepts, considering that children's cognitive abilities are at the concrete operational stage. The primary challenge is to effectively internalise Qur'anic values so that they can be understood, internalised, and practised in everyday life. This article aims to explore the effectiveness of learning based on Qur'anic stories as a pedagogical strategy that is appropriate to children's developmental characteristics. The research uses a qualitative approach with literature study methods. The results of the study show that Qur'anic stories have strong potential in forming noble morals, because they present characters, event plots, conflicts and resolutions that are concrete, so that it makes it easier for children to interpret abstract values. In addition, the integration of stories with creative methods such as role playing, drawing, and group discussions increases students' emotional engagement and conceptual understanding. This research recommends that MI/SD teachers develop interactive Qur'anic story-based learning models, use visual and audio media to strengthen the learning experience, and carry out ongoing assessments of the application of values in student behaviour. This approach is believed to be able to shape Islamic character from an early age and provide a strong foundation for the younger generation in facing the challenges of the times.
Rita SariSutrisno SutrisnoNina RahayuFebriyantika WulandariTaqwa Nur IbadAgus Riyan Oktori

http://journal.iainlangsa.ac.id/index.php/tarbawi/article/view/11131

Inclusive education is an approach that aims to provide equal educational rights for all students, including those with special needs. This research aims to identify the challenges faced in the implementation of inclusive education in primary schools as well as opportunities that can be used to overcome them. This study uses qualitative methods with interviews, observations, and documentation approaches to obtain in-depth data on inclusive education practices in several elementary schools in Indonesia. The study results show that the main challenges faced include the lack of inclusive teacher training, limited support facilities for students with special needs, and the lack of effective social interaction in the school environment. However, some opportunities can be utilized, such as providing practice-based continuous training, improving disability-friendly facilities and infrastructure, establishing social support groups in schools, and using educational technology as an interactive learning tool. The conclusion of this study confirms that a practical training-based approach for teachers, investment in inclusive facilities, the development of social activities that support the interaction of students with special needs, and the use of digital media can increase the effectiveness of implementing inclusive education. The main contribution of this research is to provide new insights into practical strategies for addressing the challenges of inclusive education at the primary school level, which can be a reference for policymakers and education practitioners.
Nur WulandaniAyi AbdurahmanRini LestariAnjar Mahmudin NSTAwayundu Said

http://journal.iainlangsa.ac.id/index.php/tarbawi/article/view/12680

This study aims to describe the role of classroom teachers in optimising students’ talents and interests at MIN 2 Sidoarjo. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using field research methods, including observation, interviews, and documentation involving Grade V classroom teachers (VA, VB, and VC). The findings reveal that classroom teachers perform four key roles: facilitators, innovators, motivators, and communicators in supporting students’ potential development. These roles are implemented through differentiated learning practices, emotional support, and effective communication with students and parents. The study highlights the strategic contribution of classroom teachers as the main agents of talent and interest development in madrasah ibtidaiyah that lack guidance counsellors. The findings imply that strengthening teachers’ pedagogical competence in differentiated and student-centred learning is essential to support holistic student development in Islamic elementary education
Vindy Agung TrisnawaNasrul Fuad ErfansyahMunawir MunawirUswatun ChasanahMakhillah Makhillah

This article discusses the architecture of Masjid Jami' Gresik as a reflection of Islamic educational values and the acculturation of local culture. The research focuses on the importance of integrating Islamic values into the architectural design of mosques, which serve not only as places of worship but also as sources of education. The research method employed is qualitative with an anthropological approach, involving observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. Data were collected through direct interaction with informants, including the management of Masjid Jami' Gresik, as well as analysis of relevant literature. http://journal.iainlangsa.ac.id/index.php/tarbawi/article/view/12526

Students are vital to the continuity of education. The existence of students needs to be regulated to ensure the quality of education. One form of student regulation is dropout and transfer. This study provides a new perspective on how managing student dropouts and transfers can contribute to character building. This study aims to identify the factors causing transfers and dropouts, as well as the efforts made by schools to prevent dropouts and transfers, to strengthen student character. This study uses a qualitative approach, with a case study type of research. The research was conducted at MAS Mifftahul Jannah, Bengkalis, Bengkalis Regency. The data collection techniques were in-depth interviews and observation. The results of the study show that the factors causing student dropouts and transfers originate from the students themselves (internal factors), such as the students' inability to adapt to school rules and the unattractiveness of the school environment. Reducing student dropout and transfer rates can be achieved by strengthening character education values such as discipline, hard work, and responsibility. Strengthening these character values is expected to create moral, social, and academic resilience in students
Aisyah NuraminiKhrisfison KhrisfisonNelly Hastuti

http://journal.iainlangsa.ac.id/index.php/tarbawi/article/view/12937

Several Indonesian Islamic Higher Education Institutions (Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam/PTKIN) experienced a transformation from Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) to Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) in the early 2000s. This transformation not only involved an institutional change but also marked a significant epistemological shift from a single religious identity toward a multidisciplinary university model that integrates religious and general sciences. This study aims to analyse four models of knowledge integration developed at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, and UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. Employing a qualitative comparative approach based on a literature review, this study examines the philosophical foundations, epistemological orientations, and patterns of implementation of each model. The findings indicate that the four models emerged from a shared historical context, namely the transformation from IAIN to UIN, and are grounded in relatively similar philosophical foundations that position monotheism and revelation as central epistemic references. However, these foundations are articulated through different conceptual metaphors and epistemological emphases. The implementation of the models has been institutionalised through curricula, academic policies, and organisational culture. The implications of these models for the transformation of Islamic higher education in the digital and global era are complementary and mutually reinforcing. This study also identifies implementation challenges related to academic governance, curriculum synchronisation, and faculty capacity. Overall, the four models of knowledge integration enrich Islamic higher education by integrating spirituality, scientific rationality, and social responsibility, while highlighting the need to strengthen academic governance and sustainable professional development
Nurul Budi MurtiniMuhammad Arfan Mu’ammarAbdul MujibIrfan YuhadiNira Arumsari

http://journal.iainlangsa.ac.id/index.php/tarbawi/article/view/12420

Learning motivation is an essential factor in academic achievement, yet many students still exhibit low engagement, lack of focus, and limited persistence. Similar conditions were found among Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam, particularly during learning guidance sessions. To address this issue, interactive media that align with students’ needs are required. Wordwall, a game-based digital platform, offers a potential solution by creating a more engaging and participatory learning atmosphere. This study examined the effectiveness of Wordwall in enhancing students’ learning motivation within the context of guidance services. Using a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest, the research involved eight Grade VIII-4 students. The intervention consisted of Wordwall-based interactive quizzes, followed by a posttest to measure changes in motivation. The results revealed a significant improvement (p < 0.05) with an average N-Gain score of 0.90, categorised as high. The findings suggest that Wordwall effectively fosters students’ interest, activeness, and persistence. In addition, its application in guidance sessions provides new insights into the broader use of digital media beyond classroom instruction. These results offer practical implications for teachers and counsellors to integrate interactive technology more creatively in supporting student motivation and academic outcomes.
Nur Syahira AgustinaWanty Khaira
