Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of Islamic boarding schools as a form of the development process of national education, including Darul Falah Islamic boarding school. The existence of Darul Falah Islamic boarding school in the midst of society can affect social change, especially for the younger generation to develop knowledge. One of the scholars KH Ghufron Aly who took part in the Bendiljati Kulon community. In this study, there are two problem formulations: first, how is the background of the establishment of the Darul Falah Islamic boarding school? Second, how is the educational development of the Darul Falah Islamic boarding school 1986-1991. This research aims to find out how the history of the establishment of Darul Falah Islamic boarding school, as well as the development of Darul Falah Islamic boarding school education. This research uses historical research methods with the stages of heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. Some of the findings in this study include: first, the establishment of Darul Falah Islamic boarding school which was originally a mushola until it became a boarding school. Second, the work of KH. Ghufron Aly as a cleric figure who is widely recognized by the community, Third, the development of Darul Falah Islamic boarding school education which applies the salafiyah curriculum.
