In this study, the hadith regarding the trials of the Dajjal is the subject of investigation. An interesting issue in this study is the difference in the assessment of the hadith between Tirmidhi, who states that the hadith is hasan sahih, and Albani, who claims it to be dhaif. The reviewers and observers of the hadith study only focus on the research that validates its authenticity without considering opinions that assess it otherwise. There are those who limit their research to the study of living hadith. However, Albani's assessment, which states that it is weak, is also argumentative and deserves to be examined because it is based on the science of hadith terminology. Moreover, the assessment of hadith is the result of ijtihad, not a fixed and absolute determination. For that reason, this article becomes interesting as it examines the comparison of those two opposing viewpoints. The aim is to prevent absolute claims of right or wrong without considering the reasons behind the two opinions. To obtain answers to the issues at hand, this research analyzes everything related to the quality of hadith, both in terms of the chain of narration (sanad) and the content (matan), while considering the differing opinions of scholars. Data and information are obtained through the hadith books, which are original sources, the books of al-jarh wa al-ta'dil, the books of the explanation of hadith, the books of mukhtalif al-hadith, and others as methods to measure the validity of hadith. This aims to strengthen the results of the comparison of opinions among different scholars. From the study conducted, it can be concluded that this hadith is considered weak because its content contradicts what is narrated in stronger hadiths. Meanwhile, Tirmidhi's opinion, which states that it is hasan shahih, denies this because the differences that occur can be reconciled. Thus, compromise is prioritized before making a decision. This idea is agreed upon by the majority of scholars who interpret the hadith.
2025-06-23T04:05:12+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Al-Bukhari : Jurnal Ilmu Hadis https://journal.iainlangsa.ac.id/index.php/bukhari/article/view/10523 IMPLEMENTASI JARH (KRITIK NEGATIF) DALAM PROSES STANDARISASI DA'I: TINJAUAN TERHADAP KITAB QAWAID AL-TAHDIS 2025-06-23T15:38:05+08:00 nurul Nurhidayah [email protected]
The pros and cons of the Indonesian Ulema Council's (MUI) da'i certification programme reflect the complexity of this issue. Those in favour of certification argue that the main objective of the programme is to produce da'i who are enlightening and anti-radical. They believe that this certification will provide security and protection against potential deviations in the content of da'wah delivered by da'is. On the other hand, opponents of certification fear that the programme could reduce the number of volunteers who preach in the community. They argue that the selection process and standardisation applied by MUI is still unclear, so that it can lead to injustice in the assessment of preachers. This paper examines the Jarh theory that ‘Jarh people who are dhoif, as a form of Advice', by using the literature study in the book QAWAID AL-TAHDIS this research states that the existence of Jarh will improve the quality of Da'wah, Jarh will criticise the quality of scholars with the certification of Jarh people who are dhoif (weak) is important to maintain the quality of da'wah. By applying the principle of jarh through three stages, namely Certification by involving the local community, certification by involving community leaders, and analysis and feedback with fellow MUI in the certification process, da'i certification will be more structured and formal.
2025-06-23T15:38:05+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Al-Bukhari : Jurnal Ilmu Hadis https://journal.iainlangsa.ac.id/index.php/bukhari/article/view/9125 Textual And Living Hadith Studies: Methods and Contributions to Hadith Understanding 2025-06-30T02:57:22+08:00 Zikri Darussamin [email protected]
This article focuses on examining the method of understanding the Prophet's hadith. This is done considering that the hadith has a strategic position in the life of every Muslim. Hadith is not only as a bayan Al-Qur'ân, but also as a basis for determining the law when it is not regulated in the Al-Qur'ân. Various methods are used to understand the hadith correctly and comprehensively, among them is the study of texts and living hadith. The question that we want to find the answer to is how are the two methods applied and what are their contributions in understanding the hadith. This study uses qualitative methods with a historical and philosophical approach. The results showed that the study of the text rests on the meaning of the hadith text based on certain rules, while the study of living hadith is an integrative-interconnected study between the hadith and the disciplines of social science, anthropology, ethnography, phenomenology and other social sciences. Living hadith study is a form of contemporary hadith study that emerged in the last decade. Text studies and studies of living hadith contribute to understanding the hadith correctly while at the same time grounding the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.
2025-06-30T02:57:22+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Al-Bukhari : Jurnal Ilmu Hadis
