Abstract
Tasawuf merupakan bidang studi Islam yang memusatkan perhatian
pada perkembangan pembersihan aspek rohani manusia yang dapat
menimbulkan akhlak manusia. Mempelajari dan mengamalkan
tasawuf seperti yang ditawarkan oleh para sufi sepertinya merupakan
salah satu jalan untuk membangkitkan Islam global seperti pada
zaman keemasan Islam. Menginternalisasikan atau membumikan nilai-
nilai spritual dalam bentuk tasawuf menjadi kebutuhan secara imperatif
sepanjang hidup manusia dalam semua bentuk perkembangan
masyarakat. Untuk masyarakat yang masih terbelakang, spritualisme
harus berfungsi sebagai paradigma dakwah untuk mendorong
peningkatan etos kerja dan bukan sebagai pelarian dan ketidak
berdayaan masyarakat untuk mengatasi tantangan hidupnya.
Sedangkan bagi masyarakat maju-industrial, spritualisme berfungsi
sebagai paradigma dakwah dalam bentuk tali penghubung dengan
Tuhan.
