Abstract

In the practice of ideal leadership, the values of ethics, spirituality, and social responsibility should serve as the fundamental basis for decision-making and organizational management. However, modern managerial dynamics are often trapped in pragmatic secularism and moral relativism, which weaken the ethical dimension of leadership. This article aims to explore the principles of Islamic leadership in Buya Hamka’s thought and examine their relevance to contemporary managerial ethics. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method through library research, analyzing Buya Hamka’s works and recent scholarly references thematically and contextually. The findings reveal that Buya Hamka’s ideas make a significant contribution to developing a moral, spiritual, and humanistic leadership paradigm. These principles can serve as a normative foundation for shaping an ethical management model relevant to the challenges of modern organizations, including those in Aceh.
