Abstract

Pemikiran spasial sangat penting untuk akuisisi dan konstruksi. Pemikiran spasial dapat membantu siswa memahami konsep geometris. Siswa mulai memahami konsep geometri pada tahap prilaku. Pemikiran spasial siswa pada tahap perilaku konkret tidak sedikit mampu melakukan eksplorasi. Penelitian ini mengkaji kemampuan siswa menggunakan penalaran spasial untuk menyelesaikan masalah geometri berbasis gender. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Melalui lembar kerja, siswa mampu melakukan penalaran spasial. Selain lembar kerja, pengumpulan data pendukung diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam. Tes dan wawancara digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Sampel yang menjadi target pada penelitian ini adalah siswa sekolah dasar kelas lima, responden pria dan wanita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa laki-laki memiliki keunggulan penalaran dibandingkan siswa perempuan, khususnya dalam visualisasi spasial.
