Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

Jurnal Investasi Islam (JII) implements a rigorous review system to ensure the quality and integrity of published research. The review process follows these stages:

1. Initial Screening

Every submitted manuscript undergoes an initial desk review by the Editorial Board. At this stage, the editors evaluate the paper for:

  • Alignment with the Focus and Scope.

  • Adherence to the Author Guidelines.

  • Plagiarism check (Maximum similarity of 25% via Turnitin).

  • Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be rejected or returned for correction.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. JII uses a Double-Blind Review process, meaning:

  • The identity of the authors is concealed from the reviewers.

  • The identity of the reviewers is concealed from the authors.

3. Reviewer Recommendations

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, methodology, clarity, and contribution to Islamic investment and finance. They provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept Submission: Published as is.

  • Revisions Required: Minor changes needed.

  • Resubmit for Review: Major changes and a second round of review required.

  • Decline Submission: Rejected for publication.

4. Final Decision

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on the reviewers' reports. If there is a conflict between reviewers, a third reviewer may be consulted. The final decision is sent to the author along with the reviewers' feedback.

5. Timeline

The review process typically takes 4 to 12 weeks, depending on the availability of reviewers and the complexity of the revisions.
