Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Investasi Islam (JII) maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism. To ensure the originality and quality of published research, all manuscripts are subject to strict screening processes.

1. Screening Process

Every manuscript submitted to JII will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin or other plagiarism detection software. This screening is conducted:

  • Upon initial submission (before the peer-review process).

  • Prior to final publication (if significant revisions were made).

2. Similarity Threshold

JII stipulates the following criteria for originality:

  • The maximum allowable Similarity Index is 25%.

  • Any single source must not exceed 3% similarity.

  • Manuscripts exceeding this limit will be returned to the author for revision or summarily rejected.

3. Types of Plagiarism

JII considers the following as serious ethical violations:

  • Direct Plagiarism: Verbatim copying of text without proper quotation marks and citation.

  • Self-Plagiarism: Reusing significant portions of the author’s own previously published work without disclosure.

  • Patchwriting: Copying phrases and sentences from sources and stitching them together with minor changes.

  • Improper Citation: Failing to credit the original source of an idea, data, or image.

4. Consequences

If plagiarism is detected after publication:

  • The journal will issue a formal Retraction of the article.

  • The author’s institution and relevant indexing databases will be notified.

  • The author may be banned from submitting to JII for a specified period.
