Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics

Jurnal Investasi Islam (JII) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the editor, the peer reviewer, and the publisher (IAIN Langsa).

1. Duties of Authors

  • Reporting Standards: Authors must present an accurate account of original research and an objective discussion of its significance.

  • Originality & Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Any form of plagiarism constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

  • Multiple Publication: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is unethical.

  • Authorship: Credit should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the study. The corresponding author must ensure all co-authors have approved the final version of the paper.

2. Duties of Editors

  • Fair Play: Editors evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, or political philosophy of the authors.

  • Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author and reviewers.

  • Publication Decisions: The editors are responsible for deciding which of the manuscripts submitted to the journal will be published based on the validation of the work and its importance to researchers.

3. Duties of Reviewers

  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and may also assist the author in improving the paper.

  • Promptness: Any selected referee who feels unqualified or unable to provide a timely review should notify the editor and excuse themselves.

  • Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Supporting arguments for recommendations must be clearly stated.

4. Duties of the Publisher

  • Handling Unethical Behavior: The publisher and the editor shall take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred. In cases of alleged misconduct, the publisher will follow COPE guidelines for retractions or corrections.
