Al-Qadha: Jurnal Hukum Islam dan Perundang-Undangan is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Department of Islamic Family Law, IAIN Langsa, since 2017. The journal is established to support the development of high-quality scholarship in Islamic law, with particular attention to its theoretical foundations and practical applications within Muslim societies, especially in the Indonesian context. Published biannually in June and December, the journal demonstrates a sustained commitment to academic rigor, editorial consistency, and ethical standards in scholarly publishing. It provides an authoritative platform for academics, researchers, and legal practitioners to engage in critical discourse on Islamic law in both classical and contemporary dimensions.

The journal aims to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Islamic legal studies by encouraging research that integrates normative Islamic legal principles with civil law and statutory regulations in force in Indonesia. This integrative approach reflects the reality of legal pluralism and promotes contextual understandings of Islamic law within the national legal system. By positioning Islamic law in dialogue with positive law and judicial practice, Al-Qadha: Jurnal Hukum Islam dan Perundang-Undangan seeks to produce scholarship that is not only conceptually robust but also socially relevant and practically applicable. Such an orientation is particularly important in addressing the evolving challenges of family law amid continuous social, cultural, and legal change.

The scope of the journal encompasses a broad range of topics related to Islamic law and comparative legal studies in Muslim societies. These topics include Islamic family law, legislation and legal reform, jurisprudence, Islamic civil law, dispute resolution and mediation, comparative family law, as well as modern and contemporary Islamic legal thought. The journal welcomes original research articles employing diverse methodological approaches, including doctrinal, socio-legal, comparative, and interdisciplinary perspectives. Contributions from scholars in related disciplines such as sociology of Islamic law, Islamic studies, and anthropology of Islamic law are also encouraged to enrich scholarly dialogue and broaden analytical frameworks.

In terms of academic credibility and scholarly recognition, Al-Qadha: Jurnal Hukum Islam dan Perundang-Undangan has achieved important milestones. Since 2018, the journal has been a registered member of CrossRef, ensuring that all published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) that enhance citation accuracy, traceability, and global accessibility. Furthermore, in May 2024, the journal received SINTA 2 accreditation from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education of the Republic of Indonesia, with validity extending until December 2027. This recognition confirms the journal’s adherence to national quality standards and strengthens its position as a reputable academic journal contributing to the development of Islamic law and legislation scholarship in Indonesia.
